New Heating System installed in the Church
St James Church, Thornton has secured a £22,592 grant from Biffa Award; a multi-million-pound fund that helps to build communities and transform lives through awarding grants to community and environmental projects across the UK, as part of the Government's Landfill Communities Fund.
Along with a grant of £15,000 from the 'West Yorkshire Mayor’s Climate Community Grants Scheme'
this has enabled the church to replace the boilers and update the heating system within the church.
In addition to providing a more efficient heating system, reducing costs and the carbon footprint of the church it will ensure that the building can be used throughout the year and make it more available for community events
