Giving is something we do as part of our worship, commitment to God's people and support of the church.
Regular Giving
The most efficient way to give is directly to the church bank account by standing order. You can set up a standing order easily or you can contact our office who will assist you.
Tax-Efficient Giving
If you pay UK tax then you can make donations tax efficiently. This means by completing a Gift Aid Declaration you will allow us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you give. For more information contact our finance team.
Other Ways To Give
Other ways you can give regularly include giving through your employer's Give As You Earn Scheme (check with your employer's HR department) and setting up a standing order through a charity agency such as CAF or Stewardship
Legacies - You can make a donation to St James in your will. Please ask your solicitor when you make or change your will, or contact our finance team for more information.
Share Gifts - Gifts of company shares can be donated to The Belfrey (this entitles you to tax relief). A website to help you do this is Sharegift.
Online purchases - You can donate to The Belfrey (at no cost to yourself) every time you buy online from a host of major suppliers such as Amazon, Tesco, Asda, M&S, john Lewis and ebay. Just go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk, register with them, nominate St James le St James as your chosen charity and follow the instructions. This will generate a donation to the Belfrey (typically 1.5%) on each qualifying purchase.
Making A One-Off Gift
On most Sundays you can put cash, charity voucher or cheque (payable to ) into the offering bag.
During office hours you can call into the office and make a donation by debit card.
